It takes alot less energy to maintain speed than if you speed up/slow down/speed up. [ http://youtube.com/watch?v=iO3sBulXpVw ] To get the most out of driving, and the best economy, the least stress on the driver, you must FLOW. Anticipate stoplights, stupid drivers, slower vehicles, whatever, be really smooth on your steering (the less steering imput you give, the better) and flow around them like water and maintain a constant speed...its kind of hard to explain, but I am sure that someone else can put it into words better than I. One more thing: If you use the cruise control and have to hit the brakes, use the throttle to get back up to speed before you reset the cruise.
